A rare antique tintype, dating to c. 1865, of a young man with his dog on his lap set in a textured sterling silver bezel atop a wide half-round band. The tintype is covered with an optically clear (no inclusions) faceted rock crystal quartz. Images of animals in these antique photographs are rare, as the sitter was required to keep still for some length of time.

Measurements: Ring is a size 7 1/2; setting measures 1 1/4" x 1".
